Color Guard:
PAIGE:
My name is Paige and most people know me for my overachieving enthusiasm. You’ll always be able to see me in the halls, dressed up for spirit week or wearing a bright outfit. I’m a firm believer in the ideology that there can never be too much color and my art reflects that.
FAVORITE BAND MEMORY:
My favorite memories from band are the late nights on the bus as we come home from a competition feeling accomplished and proud after we put on a fantastic performance.
LIV:
Liv, has been doing colorguard since she was in 10th grade. She also has been doing Student Government since she was in 9th grade is currently has the position of Student Body President. She is planning on attending a 4yr college.
FAVORITE BAND MEMORY:
Hanging out with everyone after competitions!
BAILEIGH:
Hi, my name is Baileigh, this will be my 4th year doing Color guard and I've been co-captain for 3 years. I'm planning to go to NAU next year to study psychology. Outside of band and school, I love to read, hike, travel, and hangout with friends.
FAVORITE BAND MEMORIES:
Bus rides home from competitions. They are just really fun and relaxing and also the football games, those are really fun.
BRIANDA:
My name is Brianda, I am a Senior at Shadow Mountain High School. I am the Co-Section Leader of the Shadow Mountain Marching Band Colorguard. Outside of school I enjoy crocheting, sewing and crafting. After high school I am hoping to be a Veterinarian and or work in a shelter.
FAVORITE BAND MEMORY:
My favorite memories from band are having fun up in the stands after a competition and hanging out with friends. I also enjoy halftime performances at football games and having fun during our breaks.
Orchestra:
RYLEE:
I've always loved music when I was little, jamming out to whatever suits my groove. I did not care for what the song was about, as long as it had a good beat. When I heard I could learn how to play an instrument in elementary, I instantly fell in love. I picked the viola because the violins were overrated and I didn't have much interest in cello. It was the best decision of my life.
FAVORITE ORCHESTRA MEMORY:
My favorite memory was learning how to play the love theme from The Godfather.
SHELBY:
Hi, my name is Shelby, I've been in marching band for 3 years now, and this will be my second and final year in pit! I'm sad to let marching band go at the end of the year, but I'm so glad I've gotten to be here for the last 3 years. I hope me and the rest of the seniors this year can make the most of it!!

Band:
TALIA:
Talia has been on bass drum for all three of her marching seasons and is very happy to call herself Drum Captain for her senior season. Outside of band, she spends her time drawing comics for her NVAA Art Capstone, playing drum set, writing, and hanging out with friends. She plans to attend College in Indiana and will major in Art Education.
FAVORITE BAND MEMORY:
My favorite memory from band is the 2024 State competitions when we won both second place and yet another percussion caption. Everyone in battery was very hype and it was awesome.
ELI:
Eli has found his greatest passion and success in the world of music. He started playing drums at 11 and has grown to heights that he never could have imagined. In marching arts, Eli marched LINEA Percussion for 4 years from 2022-2025 and Breakthrough Indoor Percussion in 2026. For the 2027 season, he plans to march his second year with Breakthrough and teach the SMHS Indoor tenor line for his NVAA Music Tech and Percussion Ensemble Capstone project. This is his 5th and final year with the SMHS Marching band. After he graduates, he plans to go to PVCC for speech therapy.
FAVORITE BAND MEMORY:
My favorite memory from band is winning the percussion caption with all of my amazing friends in 2025.
XOCHITL:
Born and raised in Arizona, Xochitl is a senior and proud bass drummer. This is their first and last year in the SMHS marching band, deciding to take on a new adventure, with their fellow band members, making many memories before graduation.
FAVORITE BAND MEMORY:
My favorite memory is hanging out with all my friends at the first home football game.
HANNAH:
Hannah is a dedicated marcher and passionate musician. She intends to continue pursuing music in college and for the rest of her lifetime. Her main instruments include Mellophone in the marching season, Bassoon in the concert season, and Trumpet on the side. She loves all of the arts including band, dance, and painting. She is so excited to leave an impact on this program!
FAVORITE BAND MEMORY:
My favorite memories would have to be the night that each senior gets to give a speech to the rest of the marching band. They get to share their best experiences and the moments where marching band has truly changed them.
KATELYN:
My name is Katelyn and I am the Low Brass section leader on Contra, a tenor sax player for pep band and jazz band, a clarinet for concert band, and a cymbal player for indoor percussion. I have been playing music for 10 years; I play roughly 12 instruments. I have marched one season with Breakthrough Indoor Percussion where we swept every competition in Arizona. Outside of music, I love to read, rock climb, and learn as much as I can. I plan to pursue a degree in environmental science at NAU after I graduate this year.
FAVORITE BAND MEMORY:
My favorite memory is when we do the final run where the seniors sit out at the last rehearsal of the season. I have loved it every year and I can't wait to watch from the sidelines this year.
DEXTER:
Dexter has been in marching band for the past 4 years. Every year, he has played the bass drum, and he doesn't plan on stopping. He has plans to join a college marching band and continue marching the bass drum.
FAVORITE BAND MEMORY:
My favorite memory from band is all of the dark bus rides home from the marching band competitions, when someone would put on music and everyone would sing along.
HALO:
As someone who has participated in the district band program for nine years, and the high school marching band for five, I have spent the majority of my life indulging in music-based activities. I have primarily focused on my main instrument, the trombone, throughout this time, however, I also picked up the euphonium during my freshman year. I later advanced to being drum major my senior year and began learning how to conduct and improve my leadership capabilities.
FAVORITE BAND MEMORY:
Blasting cheesy pop songs and talking with my friends on the bus to and from competitions.
ANDRES:
Andres has been a part of the Marching band for all four years of high school. For the first two years he played the Rack and then for his other two he played the Marimba. Andres was also part of the Shadow Mountain indoor drumline playing Marimba. As well, he has been the front ensemble section leader for his junior and senior year.
FAVORITE BAND MEMORY:
My favorite memory from Marching band was watching other marching bands at competition.
