Wow! Our amazing Marching Matadors overcame a challenging start to the State Championships. A late equipment truck, minimal warm up and yet they did awesome! Congratulations winning Second Place and the Percussion Caption in the Red Division! Way to focus and perform after a stressful situation. Also thanks to our awesome volunteers! You all came through… getting props quickly setup while the rest of the band and equipment were en route. You all rock!
But we can’t stop… it is time to plan a concert, a banquet and a parade! Come to our next Booster Meeting, November 17th at 6pm in the band room to cover those and more.
UPDATES, NOTES & REMINDERS:
Shadow Showcase November 12th, 7-9pm The is our opportunity to recruit new marching band members for next year. The band will perform and talk to potential students. It would be wonderful if some of our Booster Parents could come and talk to other parents in the Activity Center about the benefits of marching band with their kids. The Boosters plan to have treats and a display showing the Drawn to the Flame performance.
Band Booster Recruitment: We need you to support our Band Booster Future! Board elections are coming in January/February and two of our board members are graduating out this year. Please consider running for a board position or partnering with someone to be a co-board member. It does take time but it’s so important to support our kids and this amazing program.

Next Booster Meeting:
November 17th (Monday 6:00pm to 8:00pm – SMHS Band Room): All Boosters (parents) are welcome (and encouraged) to attend our monthly Booster Meetings. This is our primary planning meeting where we discuss and coordinate Booster activities to support the Marching Band in the upcoming weeks.
