The Shadow Mountain High School Band Boosters is an association organized to create interest in, as well as provide guidance and financial support to, the various band programs of Shadow Mountain High School located in Phoenix, AZ. At Shadow Mountain High School, these programs include Concert/Marching Band, Jazz Band, Color Guard, Winter Guard, and Winter Percussion. Our bands have earned multiple honors and awards over the years while providing valuable enrichment to each student’s educational experience. In 2017, our band program added Winter Guard and Winter Percussion to provide additional opportunities for our band students. Both Winter Guard and Winter Percussion are open to students at our neighboring middle school.
In 2016, Shadow Mountain Marching Band was selected to represent the State of Arizona at the Pearl Harbor 75th Anniversary Commemoration events in Hawaii. The Marching Matadors were chosen from a highly selective process and raised over $100,000 to participate in this very special honor.
Band Boosters
Behind every successful band is a dedicated group of dedicated parents and community. All parents and families of current band students automatically become members of the band boosters. The success of our programs and fundraising depends on volunteers.
The mission of the Band Boosters is to support the Band Director and the Band Program. The Band Program relies on volunteers among our parents and families. From fundraising, moving equipment and instruments, to distributing water to our students at competitions, football games and other events volunteers help keep the programs running smoothly and are often the public face of both the band program and Shadow Mountain.
We understand that volunteering doesn’t look the same for everyone. For those who cannot attend events, there are other opportunities to help by donating needed items, altering uniforms from home & seeking community sponsors, managing our social media, and other important tasks.
To provide our students with the best equipment and opportunities, we fund raise throughout the year. These funds help pay for travel, uniforms, band camp, musical equipment, props, transportation, meals and snacks at events, hardship scholarships, extra instruction, and anything else that would benefit our students and music program not covered by the District or other fees. Fundraising also helps reduce the cost of participating in band.
Shadow Mountain Band Boosters, Inc. is a Section 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization as part of the Shadow Mountain High School Matador Parent-Teacher Club.
Hi,
I’m Jen, with the National Kidney Foundation of Arizona. NKF is hosting the Kidney Walk on Sunday, April 16th at Salt River Fields in Scottsdale. I’m looking for a band to help Kick-Off the Kidney Walk by creating an exciting, fun, and entertaining atmosphere for Kidney Patients, Kidney Donors, Kidney recipients, family, friends, and Community members. NKF is willing to make a $250 Donation to support the Shadow Mountain Band.
Hello Jen,
Unfortunately the SMHS Band will not be able to participate in your event. Our Band Director has been on personal leave for the last couple of weeks so the band isn’t doing any events 🙁 . We do appreciate that you did reach out to us. Please keep us in mind for your future events (next years walk). Its best to reach out directly to the band director (will be a new director next year so I don’t know what their contact info will be).
Thanks again for thinking of us.
