Hi Fellow Band Booster Parents!
Welcome to 2026! Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday break!
First up will be the January booster meeting this Tuesday, January 6th, 6-8pm in the Band Room. Elections and Honor Band hosting will be top priority. In case you missed it, Meeting minutes from the December Booster meeting were posted to the Band Booster website.
Elections will be held at the January booster meeting. The Band Boosters need five voting officers for our booster organization. The Bylaws and Officer duties are posted on the website under the ABOUT->BAND BOOSTER BY-LAWS Tab. Feel free to reach out to any of the current officers (Email links: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer) for more information on the positions. If you are interested in running as for an officer or a co-officer position please attend the January meeting. Being an officer does take time but it’s so important to support our kids and this amazing program.
Honor Band, Friday, January 16th. PVUSD High School and Middle School Band directors will be sending their honor band students to Shadow Mountain HS on January 16th. The students will practice all day with special directors and perform that night in Shadow Mountain HS Performing Arts Center. There will be over a hundred band students at this event. Volunteer help will definitely be needed. More discussion at the January booster meeting and of course, a SignUp genius to come.
Tax Credit Donation: Don’t forget you, your friends and family can reduce your 2025 AZ tax liability Dollar-For-Dollar using the Education Tax Credit to support the SMHS band. Donations for 2025 can be made until April 15th 2026. Details on the Band Booster Website.
PAYMENT REMINDERS:
Regional Payment: If your student signed up for 2026 Regionals, please reimburse the Band boosters for the $30 Regional payment fee. Cash or Check (payable to SMHS Band Boosters) can be placed in an envelope in the drop box or reach out to the treasurer for electronic payment options.
Indoor Student Payment: If your student is participating in Indoor this winter, first payment was due December 11th. Second payment is due by January 15th. Payment details can be found here.

Next Booster Meeting
January 6th (Tuesday 6:00pm to 8:00pm – Band Room): All Boosters (parents) are welcome (and encouraged) to attend our Booster Meetings. This is our primary planning meeting where we discuss and coordinate Booster activities to support the Marching Band in the upcoming weeks.
