The first full week of “Bandtober” has been so busy!The Homecoming parade went well, the rain canceled our Friday Homecoming half time performance, FanAngel launched and…. the band won FIRST PLACE at the Sunrise Competition on Saturday! Congratulations Marching Matadors!
The next big events are Senior Night, this Thursday Oct 16th and the Mesa Community College (MCC) Show, Saturday Oct 18th.
Senior Night is such a special night and we need lots of help decorating and covering our football activities. Check out the Senior Night Volunteer SignUp genius for all the details. Come, help out and celebrate our wonderful Marching Band Seniors and their families!
Then help out at the MCC show on Saturday, Oct 18. The Volunteer Signup Genius is available. Come out, sign up and support our awesome band!
And while all this is going on, our FanAngel Donation drive is LIVE! Donors should have received emails this past Thursday and we are on our way! It’s not too late to create a donor list just follow the FanAngel Donation Drive Instruction directions. The campaign runs until October 31.
NOTES & REMINDERS:
The band will be rehearsing Friday night, Oct 17th instead of Thursday, Oct 16th which is Senior Night. Make sure to check Ms. Morgan’s calendar to stay up to date.
Senior Night is also Parent Conferences from 4pm-6pm so the school will be super busy that evening.
Couldn’t make the booster meeting, October 6th? Meeting minutes are available on our website.
SWAG shop Now closed! Orders should be ready in approximately 2 weeks. They will be picked up from Russell Sports Wear by the boosters and distributed at school.
CAN YOU HELP?
Band Trailer Towing: Still hoping to find someone who can help tow the band trailer. Have to know how to tow and have a truck or vehicle capable of towing 10,000 lbs. Send an email to secretary@smhsbandboosters.com to get more information.

Next Booster Meeting
November 3rd (Monday 6:00pm to 8:00pm – SMHS Band Room): All Booster (parents) are welcome (and encouraged) to attend our monthly Booster Board Meetings. This is our primary planning meeting where we discuss and coordinate Booster activities to support the Marching Band in the upcoming weeks.
