Slight Pause in the Action – 3 weeks till first Competition

The Military and First Responders Appreciation Event was a success.  We were not able to keep the police and firefighter presence, but we did get a flyover from the Phoenix Police helicopter at the start of the game. The temperatures were ridiculously high again….thank you to all the parent volunteers who helped out during the game!!

We have a slight break in our Marching Band action.  The next performance will be our first AZMBA Competition at Casa Grande High School (Casa Grande Show – SEP 24th)

If you click on the “Casa Grande Show” link on their events page, you will be taken to a page with all of the details for the show, including the Standard Schedule (we perform at 4:25pm), the Logistics Schedule (this schedule dictates when we are allowed to start our “warmup”…..this schedule is used by Ms. Morgan to plan for the “call time” and transportation schedule for the day)

FanAngel Donation Drive

FanAngel Donation Drive is LIVE this week.  We still need ALL STUDENTS to input email addresses to their profiles.  The platform won’t work for us unless we have all student’s potential doners email addressed in the system!

Boosters have several items for discussion this month

  • Preparations for the Casa Grand (AZMBA) Show
    • Transportation, Props, Food
  • Planning for the Mountain Ridge and Pinnacle (AZMBA) Shows in October
  • Planning for Homecoming and Senior Night Football games

AZMBA Competition – Casa Grande Show

SEP 28 (Saturday)  Band performs at 4:25pm

Boosters will have a SignUpGenius email and link for volunteers to help with pushing Pit and Props for this event as well as helping with food.  This is a great opportunity to get into the competition for free and to participate with your kids as they compete with other Division 2A bands from all around AZ.

REMINDERS

Booster Board Recruitment

The Booster Board is looking for new members to begin shadowing current members in order to take on critical tasks for next years Booster Board (4 of the 6 current members are graduating out this year).  Booster Board elections are in January.  We are developing a document outlining the responsibilities and details for the Board positions and Chair positions including approximate time commitments to help anyone in deciding if they’d like to take on a position. We’ll post the document on this website soon.

Student Payments 

Student Payment –  We are still collecting Student Payments.   Student Payment Info and How To Pay     If you have not yet paid the Boosters, please get us your payment as soon as you can.  If you need to make a payment plan (2 payments) to help ease the burden, just email the Booster Treasurer treasurer@smhsbanboosters.com  and work out a schedule.
