THANK YOU Band Parent Volunteers!
Our first home game is “in the books”. While the outcome of the game was eventually a loss for the football team, the Band performed well in the stands and helped keep crowd spirits high.
A HUGE “Thank You” to all the parent volunteers that helped out at the game. We had a lot of fun (even though it was HOT). We had volunteers helping with pre-game setup of lights in the stands, hanging senior picture posters at the entrance to the field, providing water and snacks to the Band during the game, and helping raise money working the concession cart. Thank you again to everyone that helped out!
The popcorn/snow cone concession cart benefitted greatly from the high temperatures of a late August evening. We had one of our highest sales nights netting $862!! ($400 to $600 is a normal good sales night) Considering that the largest part of these sales is made up of $2 and $5 (mostly $2) snow cones and $2 popcorn, the volunteers at the cart were VERY busy!
We introduced two new sales items at the cart this year. We are selling Italian Soda drinks ($3) and knit “Bucket Hats” ($12). Both items sold fairly well. We hope these items will help us with our fund raising goals through the rest of the football season.
